Four Years Later, We Finally Built the Website The Sapphire Suite Deserved

Here’s something nobody tells you about pre-launch branding: you’re building a promise, not a proof.

You’re saying “this is what we’re going to be” before you have a single shred of evidence that you got it right. Before real clients. Before real events. Before the community that forms around your business starts showing you who you actually are and who you’re actually for.

That takes courage. And it also means that one day, if you do the work and build the thing and let it become what it was always trying to be, you get to do something deeply satisfying.

You get to rebuild the website with everything you’ve learned.

That’s exactly what this project was. And I am not being dramatic when I say it’s one of the most rewarding things I’ve done in four years of running this business.

What We Had to Work With in 2021

When Tammie Osborne and I built the original Sapphire Suite brand and website, the space hadn’t opened yet. Not a single member had co-worked in the kitchen. Not a single BizBrews had happened. There were no event photos because there had been no events. There was no community yet because the community was still, at that point, a vision in Tammie’s head and a promise in her business plan.

What we had was this: a handful of staged photos, a really strong brand identity we were both proud of, and a whole lot of faith that the thing we were building was going to be worth building.

We made it work. The original site was beautiful for what it was. The nashville branding was intentional, the jewel tones and crown icon communicated the feminine royalty energy Tammie wanted, and the copy told the story as well as it could be told before the story had actually happened.

But here’s the thing about a website built on vision rather than experience: it can only take you so far. At a certain point, the real business shows up. And when it does, the placeholder has to step aside.

What Four Years of Actually Running The Business Gave Us

Four years is a long time. A lot happened inside The Sapphire Suite between 2021 and 2026, and almost none of it could have been predicted in a pre-launch mood board session.

Hundreds of events. Not “a few events.” Hundreds. Workshops and masterminds and co-working days and celebrations and the kind of Tuesday afternoon where someone sits down next to a stranger and they leave as business partners. The Sapphire Suite became exactly the in-person community Tammie had imagined, and then some.

The BizBrews community grew into something genuinely special. For anyone who hasn’t been, BizBrews is a monthly mastermind gathering where members bring a real business challenge to the table and the room helps them solve it. It is the kind of event that makes you want to show up every single month, which I know because I have shown up every single month. The mayor does not miss BizBrews.

Real photography arrived. This is the part that changed everything from a design standpoint. Real faces. Real laughter. Real women sitting around tables and genuinely investing in each other’s success. The kind of photography that makes someone see a website and immediately think: I want to be in that room. You cannot stage that energy. You can only capture it after it actually exists.

And perhaps most importantly, four years gave Tammie and the team a crystal clear picture of who The Sapphire Suite actually serves and what those women come for. Not just co-working. Not just events. Community. Belonging. A space that feels like yours even if your name isn’t on the lease.

That clarity is everything when you sit down to rebuild a website.

The 2026 Rebuild: What We Actually Built

When Tammie and I sat down to approach the 2026 version of The Sapphire Suite website, the brief basically wrote itself. We had four years of material to work with. Our job was to get out of the way and let the real story lead.

We built the new site on Showit, which is the platform we use for every website we design at Makena Creative. If you’re not familiar with Showit, it’s a drag-and-drop website builder that gives you full creative flexibility without a single line of code required. It’s gorgeous, it’s SEO-friendly, and it’s built to showcase visual content in a way that most platforms simply cannot match. For a business as photography-rich as The Sapphire Suite, it was the obvious choice.

The design was built around the photography rather than the other way around. Every layout decision we made was in service of the images, because when your images are this good, the best thing your website can do is create a beautiful frame and then step back. Wide sections with room to breathe. Full-width moments where a single photo can do what a paragraph of copy cannot.

The copy was rewritten to reflect the warmth and energy of the space as it actually exists today, not as it was imagined four years ago. There’s a difference between copy that describes a vision and copy that describes a lived experience, and The Sapphire Suite in 2026 has four years of lived experience to draw from. That depth shows.

The goal for the entire rebuild was simple: a visitor who has never been to The Sapphire Suite should land on the homepage and immediately feel like they’re already there. Like the room is warm and the coffee is on and there’s a seat saved for them. Because there is.

The Business Lesson That Applies to Every Single Person Reading This

Here is the thing I want you to walk away with today, whether you run a co-working space or a photography studio or a law firm or a coaching practice or literally any other business.

Your launch website is not your forever website. It was never supposed to be.

It’s a placeholder for the business you haven’t built yet. It’s a promise made before the proof arrived. And there is nothing wrong with that. Every business that is honest about its pre-launch branding will tell you the same thing: we did our best with what we had, and our best was exactly what the moment called for.

The most powerful website rebuild happens when you finally have the proof to match the promise. When the real photography exists. When you know exactly who your clients are because they’ve been showing up for years. When the story you’re telling on your homepage is the actual story of your actual business rather than the story you hoped it would become.

The Sapphire Suite had four years of that proof. The 2026 website is what happens when great design gets paired with that kind of depth. The result doesn’t just look better. It feels truer.

And if you are sitting right now with a website that still looks like the business you launched rather than the business you’ve actually built, I want you to hear this clearly: that’s not failure. That’s just growth. You outgrew it. That’s a good thing. Now it’s time to catch up.

 Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know when it’s time to rebuild my website?

A few clear signs: your site was built before you had real photography or a clear picture of your ideal client, your business has evolved significantly since launch and the site doesn’t reflect that, you find yourself apologizing for it or avoiding sending people to it, or the clients you’re attracting don’t match who you actually want to work with. Any one of these is reason enough to have a conversation. All of them together means it’s overdue.

What does a Showit website redesign include?

At Makena Creative, every custom Showit website project includes a brand strategy session, full website design on Showit across your key pages, done-for-you SEO-friendly copywriting, full launch support including hosting setup, DNS, and SSL configuration, and a video walkthrough library so you know how to update your own site after launch. We build it, we launch it, and we make sure you know how to use it.

What is a boutique branding agency and how is it different from a large firm?

A boutique branding agency is a smaller, more specialized design studio where you work closely with the designer rather than being handed off to a team you’ve never met. At Makena Creative, every brand and website project is led directly by Makena. You get the same strategic depth as a larger agency with the personal attention and direct communication that only a boutique operation can offer.

Do you work with businesses outside of Nashville?

Absolutely. While we are rooted in the Nashville community and love working with local businesses, we work with women entrepreneurs and small business owners all over the country. The strategy and design process works just as well over Zoom as it does in person.

What platform do you build websites on and why Showit?

We build every website at Makena Creative on Showit. It’s a drag-and-drop platform with full design flexibility, no coding required, beautiful mobile optimization, and seamless WordPress integration for blogging and SEO. For service-based businesses that need a site that looks custom and performs well in search, it’s consistently the best option we’ve found. We also offer Showit website templates for business owners who want a professionally designed site at a more accessible price point.
